Chronograph Watches

A chronograph is a watch that not only keeps the time, but also has stopwatch functions. Pocket watch chronographs were produced during the early 18th century but did not become popular until the mid-1820s.

The term 'Chronograph' should not be confused with the term 'Chronometer',  which  refers to a watch that has received a precision certification. The Marine chronometer was an accurate timepiece used to enable celestial navigation. Many popular chronograph watches are branded with F1 racing or other sports.
